Snapdragon
In 2000 Jane left her job as Curator of British Art at the Hunterian Art Gallery in Glasgow to retrain in horticulture. In 2003 she moved to Stirlingshire with her family and they planted Snapdragon's Garden, growing cut flowers, herbs and vegetables in the Loch Lomond National Park.

The Scottish growing season is short so Jane turned to her love of textiles and embroidery to fill in the rest of the year. She has always been a keen secret sketcher - documenting the life in her garden; the plants, animals and insects that live there. Her embroideries are based on these sketches; she draws with her sewing machine to make badges, mirrors, notebooks and other home accessories. Each item is made individually and this means that each is unique - just as every flower in her garden is unique.
